This year, our family celebrated x-mas a few weeks late and out in California.

I flew out of Kansas City International Airport on Friday, January 6th, headed for Denver. Unluckily, I was seated in row nine, which is directly in front of the exit row. I did not realize how unfortunate this was until I sat down and a small sticker glared up at me from the tray table back, "No Recline This Row." Bummer.
Upon my arrival in Denver, I was greeted by my dad, slightly travel-worn and toting his red roller bag. He had flown out of Milwaukee a few hours earlier, and we were scheduled to sit next to one another on our flight to the Golden State. Unluckily again, seated in row nine. Two more hours of sitting incredibly upright in cramped seats.
Frontier has a strange boarding system, compared with other airlines, by asking for passengers who will not be requiring overhead storage for the flight to board after those who need extra time boarding. It seemed like a good idea when I heard it, but as soon as the announcement was made, a handful of passengers lugging roller bags and big backpacks shuffled up and crammed into the line. It is always a stressful time waiting, hoping you will find overhead storage above your seat, and seeing people try to cheat their way through with big bags was discouraging.
Eventually, we got to Santa Ana Airport, and were picked up by my sister and sister-in-law. We headed towards Fullerton, and made it to a Mexican restaurant where my brother was to meet us. The four of us stood in the entryway, looking out the window for Ben to arrive. Then we noticed the slightly duck-footed gait of my brother strolling across the vast neighboring Target parking lot. Apparently he had walked.
We met Marie and Thal's puppy, Lulu, and saw their new apartment before going to bed. We had to rest up for a busy following day...(to be continued in my next post!)
