Step One: The Move

My summer adventure has officially begun. Yesterday I handed over the keys to my apartment in Milwaukee and am mostly settled in at Dad's! Travis and I finished cleaning and moving most of the stuff to the car on Tuesday night, but had to come back Wednesday to do the last few odds and ends. It ended up pouring which kind of sucked (especially for the picnic planned for later that day!) but we got it done and I appreciate all the help he gave. To the right is a photo of my apartment building, taken as we were driving away for the last time in the rain!

My new job is going well so far. I started on Monday and learned h
ow to clean the bathrooms, take campsite reservations, vacuum the pool, test pool water...the list goes on. At any rate, I won't be bored doing the same hum-drum task everyday. My new co-workers and managers are all very friendly and this summer should be a blast (for all the blast that can be had scrubbing bathrooms and pool floors!) This weekend is Memorial Day and the place is going to be packed, and hopefully I will remember to take some photos and post them.

In other news, the Auree and the rats are content at Dad's house, Auree loves sitting outside and there is an abundant amount of wildlife for him to wa
tch! Today he sat in the sunshine and watched me haul boxes and so forth from the garage- what a life! This is him dozing on our new bed. >>

Next week I will be meeting the Marquette County Historical Society folks and will surely have something interesting to post about that! You can click here to visit the Marquette County website and see some of what I will be working with this summer, the links at the bottom take you to various exhibit and building information.
